I have always loved watching the local WNBA team but it was getting too hard to walk from the parking lot through the casino to the arena and to my seat until I got a power chair. I’m now a season ticket holder.
I bought the Journey Air Elite specifically for travel. At 29 lbs including battery it is light enough to easily load in and out of the car. Packs up super small for gate checking at the airport. There is no custom cover available so I bought two large Velcro straps to bind it tight when folded. I usually get two full days out of the battery. Big enough for anyone up to 200 lbs in my opinion. Does well on paved hills and flat gravel surfaces.
The biggest part about the chair is I can load and unload by my self. I am very weak in my upper body.
I love being mobile. I am able to go places, like street fairs and shopping. I have not been able to do for years, because of arthritis in my back.
As my MS progressed I lost my ability to walk. Using a manual rollator was too exhausting and I could not move across a room without becoming exhausted and falling. Since we started using a Journey Air Elite I have my independence back. I am able to conserve my energy and transfer to the Elite then go wherever I want to. It is light so my husband can easily carry it up/down stairs for me and bring it in the car whenever we go out.
